How can I search for users in groups more efficiently?
We've got ~1,500 users in our confluence-users group. I see no way to sort, filter, or search for users inside this group aside from visually looking through the list. When I view the group members (Users & Security > Groups > confluence-users), I just see a paginated list of 50 users per page, with three columns at the top of the page: User, Username, and Email.
It looks like the list is sorted by the Username column, and there's no way to change the sort column or to search. So when I need to find a user, I have to page through—one page at a time—using Ctrl+F to find their email address or username, assuming I know it.
Hi @Angela L_ ,
this is a known limitation in Confluence. In JIRA, users and groups management is more simple but not here.
There is an external app availble on the marketplace that could help you on that. Please try https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219943/user-and-group-management-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview
Hope this helps,
Fabio
Thank you for the info. I appreciate your help.
But this is yet another example of why I'm so frustrated with Confluence and am recommending that my organization find a different solution. Such incredibly basic functionality like sorting a list would cost my organization an extra $1,500 per year. It's absolutely ridiculous.
