How do I disable email notifications for a user, while still retaining access to view the calendar?

I have a user that does not want email notifications every time an event is added to a calendar. Do i need to remove them from a certain group? Should i disable the watch calendar option?

It's not possible to disable email notifications while remaining subscribed to the calendar. The user will need to stop watching the calendar if they no longer want email notifications for it.
