How do I crop images?

Honey Haines November 24, 2025

After pasting or uploading an image into whiteboard, how do I crop the image? Miro has a cropping tool that I can't find in whiteboard.

Hi @Honey Haines ,

This is a top request for Confluence CONFCLOUD-69350, so you can upvote this request for it to be picked up to implement. You can try other work-arounds below:

  1. Pre-Crop Externally & Before-hand: Edit in a tool like Preview (Mac), Paint (Windows), or online (I typically use Canva) before pasting/uploading to Whiteboard (drag or Ctrl+V).

  2. Use Shapes to Mask: Add a rectangle shape over the image > Resize to "crop" area > Set shape to no fill/transparent border. Group (Ctrl+G) to move together—visual crop without editing the image.
  3. Try Marketplace App: Embed a Draw.io diagram (/drawio) with crop tools, or use "Sketch for Confluence" (Marketplace, free trial) -> They can help with inline editing/cropping for images on Whiteboards.

I hope everything works out well for you!

Best,

Peter

Thanks for replying and for your suggested workarounds Peter, most appreciated. But what a pain we have to resort to another tool because this one doesn't have such a simple, but so useful function.

I have voted for the request so fingers crossed for all of us. BTW, the ticket you shared has been closed. This is the new request CONFCLOUD-26942

Cheers,

Honey
