How do I allow others to create a retrospective page?

Blake Wenzel September 15, 2014

I have given the user full project admin permissions in both the JIRA project and the Confluence space, but the "create retrospective" button is still grayed out and says they do not have permission.

Is there some other place I need to enable permissions for them to be able to add this?

As a note, the "retrospectives" top level page within the Confluence space is not restricted.

Thanks!

I just figured out the problem, and wanted to share the "Answer" in case others run into this issue.

Somehow, the "Create Retrospective" button on the top level "Retrospectives" page for the project was always trying to create the page on my personal wiki space instead of the project or even the current user's space.

So I edited the page, and edited the create button macro to always create in the project's wiki space.

Problem solved!

Thanks again for the help.

Just the information I needed. Thanks Blake.

I copied pages from one space to another, and users were not able to add retrospectives. Edited the "Create from Template" macro with the new space key, and it was fixed. Now I need to check any other pages that use that macro. Thanks again.

You only need to have "Project Admin" permission in JIRA and "Add Page" permission in Confluence space I guess. Does the user have both?

Hi Jobin,

Thanks for the response!
In the project admin area, under roles, I have added the user to the admin role. He is also part of the developer and user roles.
In the Confluence space admin area, under permissions I have added the individual user and given him full access (including "add page").
Is there somewhere else he might need additional permissions?

Nothing else, to my knowledge. Any error in the logs when you load the page?

Hi Jobin, I figured out the issue and posted a separate answer above. Thanks for the help.
