How do I add a Jira board to a Confluence page?

Glenn Chundrlek May 13, 2019

I have an existing Kanban board that I would like for people to see in the associated Confluence page.  I've tried the "Agile Whiteboard Gadget", but it doesn't seem to be connecting to my Jira instance.  Can this be done at all?

Hello there Glenn!

This should be possible, using exactly the macro you mentioned: Agile Wallboard Gadget

The macro might take some time to load when you first add it or set it up. We could also try to add the macro using another browser, would that be possible? Clearing the cache can also be helpful.

Further, could you explain to us what do you see when you try to add the macro?

  1. Are there any errors on screen?
  2. What do you see on the Macro setup screen?
  3. Is this affecting all the boards in your Jira instance?
  4. Is this affecting other users as well?

Looking forward to your reply Glenn!

I figured out the problem.  I needed to change the "Author" setting in the macro editor from "Atlassian" to me.  That was not clear in the documentation.  Once I made that change, I was able to see my instance's boards and add the one I wanted to the Confluence page.

I also confirmed that the function works in both Firefox and Chrome.

Thanks for the reply.
