How can we go back to a search?

When we do a search, get a list of hits, click one of the hits, and then want to go back to the search to see the other hits, how can we do this without having to perform the search all over again? If we press the back button it will go back to the previous confluence page and not back to the search. The only way that I can think of how to do this is to open each search hit in a new tab/window, which is inconvenient. Is there any other way to go back to the search results?

I use the "open in a new tab" method. It's simple and you can close the tab when you are done.
