How can one remove the "Profile" access and "Personal & Spaces search" function from horizontal navi-bar?

Product: Confluence OnDemand

Hi

We have a Confluence User, which we would like to use for access to our knowledge base (kb) space, but to nothing else. We have removed the Confluence User permissions and all Space are hiden except the kb space, good!

On the horizontal navigation bar the user can still access the "User Profile" and near the Overview the Personal and Space search (in German "Personenverzeichnis & Bereichsverzeichnis"). With Confluence OnDemand, how can one remove this "Profile" access and "Personal & Spaces search" function from horizontal navi-bar for this one user?

Hi Gerry,
This is not customizable in OnDemand, and thus can not be removed from the horizontal bar. Except for the user profile itself there isn't anything that is accessible or can be changed by the user assuming the permission have been configured in such a way. Is there any other reason why you want this to be shielded?

Hi Mick,

for business reason, we would like to offer a multiple user account for access to our Knowledge Base. It would be good if we could restrict access to the Profile for a user (in the Download version I believe one can!) and remove the rights to People and Space Directory, again business results.

As Atlassian is not offering these restriction features in the OnDemand, we have decided to use the anonymous access. This does not fit our business needs, but we have no choice.

Further, this "anonymous" access does not appear to hide Confluence "Space" Administrator or Content creates names. The Space "Administrators" name is shown in the "Space Details" GUI and the anonymous user has access to "Extras", which includes the pages histories. On the page history GUI, the content creator names are displayed. In both cases, an anonymous person has access to privilege infomation and can use it for abuse.

Also, an anonymous user appears to be able to create a "Blog", which does NOT make sense as the user is anonymous. The system setttings appears to be encouraging trouble.

An anonymous user should not have rights to access user names nor create Blog content!!!

Can you help us here? This is important as we may have to drop Conflunce as our Knowledge Base source!

please let us know,
