Has anyone else experienced a huge spike in page views for their Confluence site?

We had over 8000 page views on Nov 1, but our usual is 200-500. The majority of views were anonymous. I assume it may be a search engine crawler but haven't seen this before.

Is there any risk with this type of spike or should I report it anywhere?

Thanks!

Hi @Aura Hill

Between sites managed by my wife and I, we've recently noticed a massive uptick in requests from bots collecting information for AI training.

If it bothers you, there are lists of user agents that the training bots use so you can ask them to go away via robots.txt, or services like Cloudflare will block them.

Thank you Jim, I hadn't thought about bots for AI

It wouldn’t hurt to report this to the IT or security team for visibility.
