Floating comment action seems to disappear when the style macro is used on a page

Jonathan Ramos December 14, 2018

Seems to be a bug. Does anyone have a workaround for this? :(

Jonathan,

To confirm, this is something you're experiencing on Confluence Cloud? Can you let me know what you mean by the floating comment action?

What behavior exactly are you experiencing and does this occur no matter how you are using the style macro?

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Yes this is on Confluence Cloud. Essentially the floating, highlight to comment behavior disappears after inserting the style macro, no matter how it's used (in the below screenshot I've only inserted the macro -- it's empty)

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for confirming. This is a result of the following bug:

Unfortunately the macros that are causing the problem are about to be deprecated in Confluence Cloud:

I would avoid using it on pages that you want users to be able to inline comment, until the new editor has fully been migrated to all pages.

Please feel free to comment on the above bug with your feedback, as well as sending it via the Feedback menu item (found when clicking your avatar in the bottom left-hand corner of Confluence.) This feedback goes directly to our development team for consideration.

Regards,

Shannon

Thanks Shannon,

Really look forward to the new editor with improved wysiwyg styling options!
