Favorite mapping is not correct after username change.

KarstenK September 1, 2021

Hello community,

we have migrated a Confluence system and after the migration we changed the username of all users to the upn in the LDAP user directory. Before it was the "sAMAccountName".  After the username change the favorites for the users were not mapped correctly to the new username.

When the users list their favorits nothing is displayed. On the other hand, if a user is viewing a page that was in his favorites before, he sees the mark that this page is one of his favorites.

Only after de-selecting and then selecting the page again as a favorite, the page appears in the favorite list again.

I didn't found anything that might help me with this in the internet, beside this article:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-restore-missing-favorites-after-import-from-xml-744719060.html

But I'm not sure if the same applies here, because we copied the database and file system and never did a XML backup/restore.

So my question is if anybody maybe had a similar issue and if yes, how did you solve it?

Best regards,

Karsten

I have had this in the past, the document you've found fixed it.  The important part was that we had the database backup to work from - we restored that into a temporary database so we could run the SQL against it to generate the recovery path.
