Hello,
Yesterday I published my page but didn't note that it wasn't successful. This morning when I opened the page, it was basically blank. View changes show the data from yesterday (I think) but I don't know how to bring them back.
There is no draft visible and I can view page history but the only saved version is from two months ago.
Is there any way to get my data from yesterday restored?
Thank you!
Hello @Swarnjit Sambhi!
As I understand, Unpublished Changes were lost after a failed publication.
Going straight to the point, it is not possible to recover unpublished changes after they are discarded. If your page has unpublished changes, you should see a badge right next to the page title that says "Unpublished Changes".
If there is no badge, no unpublished changes are available to be recovered.
If you were creating a new page, the unpublished changes should be displayed in your Main Confluence dashboard Under “Recent Pages” in the Drafts tab.
You can check more details about how Drafts and Unpublished Changes work in Confluence here:
However, I still have some questions:
- What is shown when you access the page in another browser?
- Is the page completely blank or is it missing the changes you tried to apply?
- What kind of content was added prior to this behavior?
- What exactly is shown under the "View Changes" menu? In what color are the changes shown?
What intrigues me is that it seems that you can see the changes you applied yesterday, but in the page itself those very changes are not present.
Let us hear from you!
Hi Diego,
I tried three other browsers but the same empty page is visible. I wish the publish had been successful and I had noticed that it was wasn't!
To answer your questions:
1. The same mostly empty page is visible in all of the browsers I tested. I will attempt to test Safari if I can.
2. The page isn't completely blank but 90% of the data is missing and none of my Monday changes are there.
3. There was text added into the tables on the page.
4. Under view changes, the information is in red and it appears to be my Monday notes.
Thanks in advance!

Hello again @Swarnjit Sambhi !
If the changes are marked in red in the “View Changes” option, it means that, if you publish the current visible version of the page edit those parts will be removed.
This is what it looks like, right?
If I click the “Revert to last published version” the same section of my page is highlighted in red. This means that, if I revert to the last published version, the removal of this section will be undone.
This is what it looks like when I click "Show Changes":
We could try to restore the last published version and check if your changes are restored. Before we do it, I advise you to copy the current version of the page somewhere. In case the restored data is not exactly what you believe it is you can still work with what the current version has.
Let us hear from you!
