Error rendering macro 'viewxls'

Hi, I am having problems with uploading the excel macro and I received the below message:

Error rendering macro 'viewxls'

Unrecognized date string, please use mm/dd/yyyy

It works fine when I upload the original document, but when I am trying to edit the document to display only 5 rows and 5 columns or anything else it suddenly breaks.

Any ideas?

I researched on this issue and found a known bug: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-57980 

You may want to review some workarounds in the comments.
