Epic and Story link

Whenever a link to an Epic is added to the Page Properties of a product requirement I see that on Jira the related Epic is updated showing the linked Page. 

This does not seem to happen when from the Confluence page editing screen I create a new epic instead of selecting an existing one. 

This issue is related to epics but affects also stories.

Just for us to better understand and help you with this issue, can you let us know from where the screenshot is?
Only seeing this piece we were not able to recognize if it's on Confluence, Jira of if it's an add-on. If possible, share with us the entire page.
Are you using a classic or next-gen software project?
Are you using only the page properties macro on the Confluence page?

This information will help us replicate the issue on a test instance to check if maybe it's a bug and if there is a workaround/solution.
