Editing files in Confluence 6.14 still possible?

I just upgraded to Confluence 6.14.0. Now when I try to edit a file inserted into the page I get a message to 'Download the Atlassian Companion App to edit this file'. Editing a file had previously worked. Is there a work around for this problem? I can see that others have had this issue also, but I didn't find a workaround.

No, the only way to edit a file is to use the Atlassian Companion App. It was introduced as part of the 6.11 release and replaces the Edit in Office function.
