Hello everybody,
Draw.io suddenly changed it's editor view on our site and I wanted to ask if you know if that's a global change or something that can be reverted.
Until recently, when you embedded a draw.io diagram and entered editing mode, it opened in full screen. But now it only opens as a part of the Confluence page edit screen, which makes working on bigger diagrams a huge pain, because half of your screen space is wasted to white space as can be seen here:
Also I had changed the default libraries and shapes that should be shown, which all have been reset for all users, so this update just killed the only actual admin feature draw.io had.
Is there any info and/or solution to these issues? Maybe someone from draw.io or diagrams.net could give an insight (and also explain, why paying customers aren't notified about major updates).
Thanks,
Koloman
Please see https://github.com/jgraph/drawio/discussions/5270. We put a notification in the draw.io editor for a couple of weeks in September about this.
Your admin will have manually updated to the latest draw.io. We tried writing "DO NOT UPDATE" in the release notes, but the release notes aren't shown to admins at the point of updating.
Forge doesn't support full screen and we had no choice but to migrate to Forge due to the https://www.atlassian.com/blog/developer/updates-to-marketplace-revenue-share-2026. We filed a ticket about this in 2021, https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/FRGE-557.
Best,
David
Hi Koloman,
looks like someone (probably, accidentally?) enabled the "page view". See right side menu, please remove the check mark at "page view" and you will see the full grid again.
Hope this helps!

Hi @Mirka Trnka -drawio Diagrams-
Thanks for the answer. In this case, this is not about Page View, but about the edit view not opening in real full screen anymore. Until last week, when we edited a diagram, there was a full screen view, but now it looks like the editor is embedded in Confluence (you see at my screenshot in the OP how Confluence is still visible greyed out around the draw.io editor).
Is there a way to get real full screen back for the editor?
