Do we have a workaround for creating task report macro in confluence version 5.4?

We are currently using confluence version 5.4. 

I need a report that will provide the list of all action items mentioned in the meeting notes; something like the task report macro available in 5.5 version. Do we have any workaround for it?

Workaround? It's not a bug, a feature was introduced in a version of confluence you aren't using, so no, there is no workaround.

The Task feature has been very under developed until Conf v.5.5  As far as I know there is no option that use Tasks before 5.5.
