I updated confluence on my machine and now it won't start with the Database connection failed error. The contents of the atlassian-confluence.log is full of the following:

The error that you are experiencing here is similar to a question that was asked recently:
May I know if it is possible for you to restore the last working backup that you have again as mentioned in the Site Backup and Restore?
While you mentioned that this instance is yet to be migrated to an external database, is it going to happen any time soon? Looking forward to hear from you soon.
It's also worth noting that this is using the default local DB and has not yet been migrated to an external DB host.
