DSpace Rest API

I'm getting following error message when trying to install dspace.

Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:2.3.2:compile (default-compile) on project dspace-rest: Compilation failure
[ERROR] /Dspace-3-release/dspace-rest/src/main/java/org/dspace/rest/entities/ItemEntity.java:[360,24] error: create(Context) is not public in Item; cannot be accessed from outside package.

You probably want to ask this in a Dspace forum, or explain what it has to do with Atlassian products if you still think you should be asking here.
