Andrew Cohen

I am confluence admin and am trying to create a space template and the options "add a new template" or "create a global template" are not available.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

Andy

Hello Andrew,

Creating Confluence templates do require appropriate permissions to be able to create:

Space templates: These page templates are available in a specific space only. If you have space administrator permission, you can define templates via the space administration screen

Global templates: These page templates are available in every space on your site. If you have Confluence Administrator permission, you can define global templates via the Confluence Administration Console.

Once permissions are confirmed, you can create template by completing the following:

To create a new space template:

  1. Go to the space and choose Space tools > Content Tools from the bottom of the sidebar
  2. Choose Templates > Create new template.

To create a new global template:

  1. Go to gear icon > General Configuration Global Templates and Blueprints.
  2. Choose Add New Global Template

Additional information can be found in regards to templates at: Create a Template

If you’re still unable to create a template, please send a screenshot of what you’re seeing instead of the create options.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
