I apologize if this has been asked before. I'm a JIRA/Confluence newbie and delving into creating a custom template. I've searched all over, but cant seem to find anything

In the generic "Product Requirements" Template, there is a preset field for "Epic" where in the field next to it, you can click and it automatically pops up the "Insert JIRA Issue/Filter" field. I am now creating my own custom template and I want the same functionality, but cannot seem to get it. Pictures are below.

Can someone please assist.

Thank you!

Michael,

The Product Requirements template is actually a Blueprint and not a template, so it was developed specifically for that purpose. It's not possible to create your own using the template method.

For more information, have a look at Developing Blueprints from our Developer documentation.

Clicking that link just gives you the option to insert the Jira Issues Macro, which also allows you to create your own. If you want users to create their own issues from your template, then they'll need to highlight the text they want to create an issue from.

Another option would be to use an add-on, such as this:

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Shannon

That's all I really wanted to do, was find out how to insert the ability to click a link and insert the macro. I was able to figure it out by just copy/pasting the existing field from the Product Requirement blueprints.

Not super intuitive, but it works.

Thank you!

Michael,

Glad you were able to get it working.
