Confluence widget connector OnDemand doesn't work for Twitter

It seems that the Widget Connector for the OnDemand product was never upgraded to support the latest Twitter widget.

So, here is the open issue in JIRA. CONF-29639  I have thrown my vote in the pile.

The issue and a workaround is mentioned here, but due to restricted functions of AOD cloud instances you cannot add external gadgets on OnDemand systems. Restricted Functions in Atlassian OnDemand

Yes, I have to use the HTML macro which isn't available for OnDemand cloud instances.
