Good afternoon,
The group with Admin permissions for MS Azure Active Directory asked me to provide the Metadata file (Confluence) so they could create the application on Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
I have searched the admin.atlassian.com and the confluence site, and I could not find the metadata file for Confluence.
Do I need to verify my Domain first?
Please assist in locating or generating metadata file for Confluence to complete SSO setup with MS azure active directory.
Thank You,
Adil
Hello @Adil Alvi
Confluence supports SSO but requires Atlassian Guard Standard subscription (Atlassian Guard is included in Confluence Enterprise).
And yes, you have to verify the domain first.
See https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/configure-saml-single-sign-on-with-an-identity-provider/ for details.
Important: Even with SSO, only users with a paid Confluence seat will be able to access your Confluence site (unless you make Spaces open to anonymous access). In other words, you will be using SSO to provision Confluence users.
If you want to make Confluence content accessible to people without Confluence seat but, at the same time, regulate access with SSO, you need to use a Marketplace App.
Hope this helps.
Thank you, Kris for the information. It was very helpful. Currently I have Atlassian Guard and I believe that fulfills the requirement for SSO. Could you suggest a Marketplace app?
Best,
Adil
