Confluence (v5.4) "Grey screen when editing or creating page"

Hi all,

me and my users suddenly get to see a grey screen when they want to edit or add existing content.

We use internal user directory.

What can be the problem? We use version 5.4. And everything worked last week/

Hello Floris,

I'm not familiar with that issue. Did you recently add any customizations or add-ons to Confluence? If so, I would recommend disabling all add-ons and removing all customizations, and see if that helps.

Second, you can try to disable all add-ons in your browser, and try from Incognito or Private Browsing modes.

Finally, you can check your Developer Tools console in your browser and see what the issue might be.

My last recommendation would be to upgrade Confluence ASAP. Confluence 5.4 reached End of Life some time ago, and it is no longer being maintained or supported. You need to upgrade Confluence to the most recent version if possible, or 6.1 at the very least. I'm not saying this will fix this particular issue for sure, but it will fix other problems you are not aware of yet, provide security updates, and prevent issues in the future.
