Confluence upgrade to version newer than 6.9

Inessa Chernoguz January 3, 2019

Hi All,

I need to upgrade Confluence from 6.7.3 to newer than 6.9.0 (using 32k HTTP header size for synchrony). I am using now postgresql version 9.3. I saw that latest version 6.13 already doesn't support db 9.3. I am a bit afraid to make 2 changes together - upgrade database and upgrade Confluence to the new version:6.13. Any suggestion which version to choose?

I saw that 6.13 is a bugfixes release. Does it include some critical bugfixes?

Thanks,

Inessa

Hi @Inessa Chernoguz

We suggest you to perform the upgrade in the test environment first. Once it is a success, you can follow the same process in the production window.
We always recommend upgrading to the latest version of Confluence. And also upgrade the PostgreSQL 9.6.

Option 1: Upgrade the PostgreSQL to 9.6 and then proceed for the Confluence upgrade to the 6.13.

Option 2: First upgrade the confluence to 6.12 and then proceed for the Database upgrade. Confluence 6.12 is the last version that will support PostgreSQL 9.3. Atlassian will end support for PostgreSQL 9.3 in Confluence 6.13 as mentioned here

Please verify the Confluence 6.13 Upgrade Notes for your reference.

Thanks
