Confluence file view does not work all the time

I am experiencing some trouble with the new Confluence file viewer. Sometimes the viewer tells me, that he is not able to render the file (had the problem with PDFs, docx and xlsx files).

Is this a known problem? Any workarounds here?

Preview is hit or miss: more miss from my experience. Sometimes if I attach the same doc to another space, it will start previewing in the first space, but not always.
