Confluence behind Apache, images not using baseURL of '/confluence/'

Deleted user November 14, 2018

Running 6.12.2 Confluence behind Apache. This is a new installation. Both Jira and Confluence are being proxied. The baseURL for Confluence is: '/confluence/' so it can be distinguished from Jira that is using '/'.

Login URL has been changed and works, the only thing that there seems to be a problem with is images that are still using baseURL of '/'.

An earlier post said modify "confluence.cfg.xml", that does not exist.

suggestions? any help would be appreciated.

Hi Kent,

So to be clear, the images on Confluence using the URL '/' aren't displaying, but those that use the proper base URL '/confluence/' do show, correct?

The confluence.cfg.xml file is required for Confluence to function, so it's possible you might be looking in the wrong location.

Can you confirm that you're not looking in your installation directory, but Confluence home? See Finding the home directory for details on how to find it.

I assume that you had Confluence set at one point to '/' and this is why the attachments located there are not working. If you had to change the base URL at one point, can you confirm you went through all the steps in Notes at Configuring the Server Base URL?

Otherwise, I would have a look at this article in order to fix the URL:

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Regards,

Shannon

I'm sorry I didn't get back to this. I figured it out. "context path" in server.xml was empty instead of the "context path" like below:

Context path="/confluence" docBase="../confluence" debug="0" reloadable="false" useHttpOnly="true">

All is good, able to access Jira and Confluence through Apache and using mod_proxy and mod_rewrite. Let Apache handle the SSL/TLS.
