Confluence Server unable to login when using Squid

Deleted user June 2, 2019

I am deploying Confluence server in an environment where all users use forward proxy Squid to access internet.

All universe works, except for Confluence server - it works fine when we access it directly - without squid.

I am unable to login and every time get redirected back to the login screen.

If I am already logged in - any action triggers logout and redirection to the login page.

Squid is configured to not cache and not proxy requests going to confluence.

This is a problem with Squid rather than Confluence, as Confluence is serving normally when you access it directly.

I'm not actually sure what you're doing here because you say "Squid is configured to not proxy", but that's exactly what you should be doing with Squid in this case.  If you're not using Squid for caching or proxying, then why are you bothering with Squid at all?

I applied SSL and that solved the problem - so squid must be caching something. Still - would be a time saver should this not be an issue.

Whatever you did while "applying SSL" sounds like it has fixed it.
