Confluence PDF Export - setting macro

Duje December 11, 2018

Hi,

is there a way to set a macro value on PDF layout title page, header or footer?

If I have a simple macro showing current date for example, can it be included in one place or it has to be included on the pages being exported?

Thanks!

Hi @Duje,

Including a macro in the PDF layout - title page, header or footer?! I am afraid there isn't a way to do it. Your example 'current date' or any dynamic content cannot be added to the PDF stylesheet, since CSS cannot pull such variables. However, you might want to try and see if one of these PDF exporter plugins on the Marketplace or Content Exporter (Word, PDF, HTML) can be of any help.

But, you can use current date or any other macro in your Confluence pages and have it exported into a PDF output. I am sure you must be knowing this already!

You may also want to refer to this article to understand how to customize your PDF exports.

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Hi Sireesha,

yes I am aware that it can be added to pages, but only functionality I need is to add macro to the export so that every export has the same format... Otherwise we would have many current-dates if we would put it on every page, because not always are users exporting the whole space.

Nevertheless, thanks for your response!
