Confluence Mobile Plugin incompatible with 7.6+

When performing the upgrade check for Confluence 7.6.1 it tells me that Confluence Mobile Plugin is incompatible, and only works for up to version 7.5.2. Is this addon deprecated and no longer required, or do we expect to see a compatible version of Confluence Mobile Plugin at some stage?

Hey there!

An update to the plugin was recently published on June 17 - it's still being used in Confluence Server. You can see the version history on Marketplace here.

The compatibility check in the plugin manager works by connecting to Marketplace, checking the most recent version of the app, and determining if the version of Confluence you're asking to upgrade to is listed as a compatible version for the app in Marketplace. Since a suite of tests is generally run on plugins before they're marked compatible for a particular version, there is often a delay between a version of Confluence being released and apps being marked as compatible for it.

Given that the app was updated quite recently and is compatible with 7.5, it's very possible that the current version of the app is also compatible with 7.6 as well but just hasn't gone through a test suite and been marked as compatible in the Marketplace. It is possible to run apps on newer versions of Confluence even if they're marked "incompatible" if it becomes necessary - although this does run slightly more risk between minor versions (e.g. 7.5 to 7.6) than with bugfix versions (e.g. 7.5.1 to 7.5.2).

Quite likely you'll see the app listing as compatible in the near future. I hope that explanation helped clear things up a bit!
