Confluence Jira user management error

Wisam Abdelaziz November 6, 2018

Hi ,

I am trying to configure Confluence to use Jira users. As such i am trying to add a 'User directory" of type "Atlassian Jira"  but keep getting this error message : "

Connection test failed. Response from the server:
The following URL does not specify a valid Crowd User Management REST service: https://apps.biogrid.org.au/jira/rest/usermanagement/1/search?entity-type=user&start-index=0&max-results=1&expand=use "

Please note that i am able to access Jira with no issues on the relevant url and this url ( https://apps.biogrid.org.au/jira) sits behind an IBM Webseal reverse proxy.

When Jira was hosted locally i.e http://localhost:8080  , the user management was working fine. Is there any particular setting to configure on my reverse proxy for this setup?

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dear @Wisam Abdelaziz,

are the application links between both servers work correctly?

Hi  @Thomas Deiler

Thanks for your reply.

I had look at the application link on confluence and it's have a network error. Not sure what it's required on the reverse proxy ( IBM Webseal) to avoid this network error. The Jira application is working fine otherwise .

Dear @Wisam Abdelaziz,

best you remove both links and re-create them. When using self-signed SSL certificates, make sure, that the JVM(s) "knows(know)" them. Otherwise the applinks will not work.

See this troubleshooting guide from Atlassian.
