Confluence Import Issues

Sadath Ali Syed
July 2, 2020

Hi Team,

I am trying to import page into confluence. It gives me error: The directory specified does not exist, or cannot be accessed.
I am not sure what the path will be from confluence server.

I tried exporting in html, xml and pdf formats from other confluence instance. No luck. Any help would be great

Hi @Sadath Ali Syed

I understand that you are trying to export a page from one confluence site and import it in to another one. When you try to import you are getting this error message about the directory specified not existing.

The instructions to follow are on https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/restoring-a-space-152036.html.
In particular pay attention to the approach to cater for large files where it suggests placing the xml backup in the <confluencehome>/restore folder on your server. You can then import directly from that folder without needing to do a browser upload.

For completeness of this answer and in case anyone using Confluence Cloud ends up here. The instructions for Confluence Cloud can be found at https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/import-a-confluence-cloud-space/
