Hello,

Our Confluence instance language settings are set to "Automatically detect browser setting".

We have a user who has been navigating Confluence for years. Yesterday, her language was suddenly switched to German. She hasn't been searching anything differently or using any other external platforms that might cause this.

I'm sure if the auto settings were changed it would reset and we could choose, but how did this happen now.

How has this happened, and how can it be resolved/avoided in future.

Thanks,

If it were cloud I'd be more likely to accuse Confluence of doing something wacky.  However you labeled this as data center, so I'm less likely to believe your end user's story.  She may not have done something intentionally, but unless the entire site switched languages, I very much doubt it is a confluence thing.  I can't think of any steps you could do to prevent this, save for uninstalling all the unused language support.
