Hi everyone,
I recently started testing the Listen / Audio Briefing feature in Confluence Cloud and noticed some confusing language behavior.
All of our pages are written in German, and the Confluence UI is also set to German.
When clicking the headset icon to open the audio feature, I can switch between “Narration” and “Briefing”, and these two modes behave differently:
Narration:
The page content is read aloud in German, but with an English voice / English accent.
Briefing:
The page content is automatically translated to English and then read aloud in English.
I also noticed that the Audio Briefings interface has changed recently, which suggests there was a recent update.
Regarding the behavior before this change, I want to be precise:
I’m not entirely sure anymore how it worked previously. It may already have been the case that Narration used the original page language, while Briefing translated the content to English.
However, from my recollection, Briefing might also have been available in German before, which is why I wanted to ask the community to confirm what the intended and expected behavior actually is.
So my questions are:
Is this different language behavior between “Narration” and “Briefing” expected?
Has this behavior always been like this, or did it change recently?
Is there any way (now or planned) to:
use a German voice for Narration, and/or
disable automatic translation in Briefing mode?
Thanks in advance for your help!
