Hi,

I accidentally unchecked the LDAP authentication on one of the Admin pages, and it results the following message when I tried to access Server/admin page:

---------------------------------------------

The following error(s) occurred:

  • You do not have permission to access /admin/default.jsp.  To access this page, please log in as a user with sufficient permissions.

You are currently logged in as MyLoginName.

Click here for the dashboard.  To log in as another user, you must first log out.

----------------------------------------------

I can no longer see the admin icon so now there is no admin on the Confluence server.  Please help to suggest a way to reassign admin right, or reactivate the LDAP authentication.  Thanks.

Hi Jack,

It sounds like you disabled the LDAP user directory on Confluence Admin Console>User Directories. You will probably want to enable the directory again once you get logged in. Please see Managing Multiple Directories for more details on User Directories.

To regain admin access on Confluence 6.5.1 or above you may use recovery mode as described in Restore Passwords To Recover Admin User Rights. If you are using an older version, please choose your version from the pulldown menu on the top right of the linked page to get to the instructions for the right version.

Thanks,

Ann
