Confluence 6.4.2 - French translations errors

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
When I begin to type in English I get red lines under the words as if there is an error in the downloadable app version. Within the website version, I do not.
I see nowhere to define my default language within the app. Please help.
