Confluence 6.1.1. works fine in Firefox and Chrome, but crashes in Internet Explorer 11

Mark Rooijakkers May 18, 2018

On my Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1) desktop, Confluence 6.1.1.  works fine in Firefox and Chrome, but crashes in Internet Explorer 11.

I can login and the first page is shown correctly, but as soon as I start navigating - using links on this page to other Wiki-pages - it stops. In the popup I get a message "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and the program is being closed.

When I don’t use the link but change the URL to navigate, the next page is shown correctly.

This is what I find in the eventvwr:

"Pad naar module met fout: C:\windows\system32\MSHTML.dll"

This combination should work:

Sounds like a corrupted or missing module for IE? I just tested 6.2.4 using IE11, and had no issues. I would try repairing your system. Try running the following from the command prompt (DOS box):

sfc /scannow
