Changing representation of uploaded documents

Hello,

I am experiencing some issue when changing the representation of uploaded documents. See below:

Steps to reproduce:
1.Go to edit mode on Confluence page
2. Click on "Upload files" (file is uploaded )
3. Click on insert

4. Once inserted you are given various options to change the representation of  the file uploaded
5 . Select the "Show as link"
6. Confluence goes spastic (it goes in and out of edit mode, hangs etc.)
7. But if you close the page and come back it has actually changed the format to a link rather than a thumbnail

Browser : Microsoft Edge

Confluence version: 6.5.0

I have checked the know-issues/ bugs, does this sound familiar?

Hi Jacqui,

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. The issue was unfamiliar to me and I checked for known issues, too.

I tested on both Confluence 6.5 and Confluence 6.6 and got the same result you described. Also as you describe, if you hit the refresh button in Edge after you get stuck on the preview page, Confluence will display the attachment as a link. I have to admit it's an ugly procedure as Confluence blinks in and out of the lightbox views.

I created a bug report to let our development team know about this issue:

MS Edge goes to a preview of the attachment when "show as link" is selected in the Confluence editor
