Change background colour for some pages

I'd like to be able to help recognition of the type of information on  page by having a set of standard background colours.  So, for example, a page about "How To" might have a pale yellow background - across all spaces.

Templates don't seem to allow me to change the background colour, is there any way of doing this?

The Content Formatting Macros app offers a macro to change the background color of a page or a section.
