Change Confluence licence from prod to dev

Chris O'Reilly March 27, 2019

I have added the prod licence to our Confluence test installation by mistake. How is the easiest way to alter the test installation so that it uses the free developer licence and also then refresh the available prod licence (on the Atlassian website) so I can install it on our prod server. Does it indeed matter, can I just reuse the licence string in the prod setup anyway?

Well, you can use the same license on more than one server, but you are only entitled to use one license in production.

To change the license of your test server, go to the Atlassian licenses page, search your server & click on "View developer license". Copy the license code to your clipboard.

Check this documentation on how to manage your server license in Confluence:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/managing-your-confluence-license-313467774.html#

Copy your developer license into the license field & click save.

You have to UPGRADE EVERY AddOn/App license after this step to a developer license, too! Check the apps/addon page, get the developer license from your Atlassian license page & copy it into the app license field.
