Cannot move issues from one project to another (due to recent changes by another user?)

I am trying to move a Team Calendar from one space to another and I'm shutting down the former space to access. When I do this, it appears the calendar is still referencing the original location behind the scenes and so, when I shut down access to the original space, it's shutting down view/access to the calendar, even though it now lives on a different space. Without recreating it (painful!), how do I MOVE it to the new space (for real!). Thx.

Hi Scot!

Strange that the calendar can't be seen when you shut down access to the original space. I'm a little unclear on exactly how the issue is presenting, though. The following info will help give more context:

  • You should be able to move a calendar by going to Calendars (in the navbar), then clicking Edit in the options menu next to the calendar. This will open a dialog to change the associated space. Is this the process you followed? If not, how did you move it to another space?
  • What do you mean by "shut down access" to the original space? (e.g. delete the space? remove view privileges?)
  • Once the old space is shut down, are you attempting to view the calendar in the calendars app (via the "Calendars" link in the navbar), or are you viewing it through a macro on a page?

Thanks!

Thanks for your response, Zak! It took me hours to finally figure out that you move a Calendar via the Edit option (unlike moving any other Confluence page). Once I figured that out and moved it that way, it worked like a charm.

Just FYI. Previously, I had simply MOVED the page from one location to another ... and didn't realize that - under the covers - Confluence was still pointing to the original location and was still maintaining the calendar content there. So, when I blocked access to the previous space location, it also blocked the calendar - even though it was now living in a completely different space. However, once I moved the calendar (again!) using the Edit option, sanity was restored ;-).

Just FYI. I hunted high and low for any documentation to tell me the proper way to MOVE a calendar and turned up exactly nothing. I finally figured it out by clicking on every link I could find and trying every option that seemed even remotely related. It took a while, but I did figure it out!
