Cannot log in after update to 6.12.1, not even as "recovery_admin"

Hello,

I inherited a confluence 5.6.6 installation which I tried to upgrade to 6.12.1

After the upgrade, I cannot log in (simply get thrown back to login prompt), not even as recovery_admin.

I don't get a "wrong password" message (which I do when I enter a wrong password).

So somehow, the password is accepted, but I'm still thrown back to the login prompt.

SSL is not enabled yet, I'm connecting to the default port 8090. It was enabled before, but certificates had expired and I really only wanted to tackle that when everything else was done.

Could this have something to do with the BaseURL setting? (If so, how would I change that without logging in?)

I'm at a loss here - managed to get the accompanying JIRA upgraded from 6.4.7 to current, but with Confluence, I'm stuck now.

Thanks for any help

Rupert

Problem solved -- not exactly sure how, though.

Before, I had a direct connection to the server, which didn't work.

Now I am going through a reverse proxy, and it works.

Leaving it at that... ;)
