Cannot import space _Confluence Cloud

Stefania Toma
October 27, 2016

Hi ,

I am trying to export a space to XML in order to import it again ,but the following error occurs : "A space with key DOC already exists."

Is there any way to change the key space ?

Many thanks in advance,

Stefania

Hi Stefania,

There is no way within the application to change the space key, so when you import your exported space that error will occur.  Normally, the advice is to export the space, delete the existing space and reimport it from the export.

However, there are a number of documented alternatives, which Atlassian have written up here.  These include plugins to copy spaces and ways to change the space key in the back up so that when you reimport it, it has a different key.  Just choose the method that works best for you.
