Each time a new blog is created it is completed greyed out. I cannot add a title or edit. The pencil that normally appears at the top of the screen isn't there. I can select MORE ACTIONS, Preview, Edit - Nothing happens. I can create other pages, just not BLOG
Hello Cheryl,
Thank you for contacting us. Could you tell me, is this for the Confluence Cloud version, or are you on a Server version? If so, which Server version?
I am not able to replicate this issue on my own Cloud instance. When I put my cursor in the title field, all of the tools in the toolbar are greyed out, with the exception of the Text color tool, since this is the only tool I can use here. I am able to type a title. Once I save the blog, I am able to view it, and if I need to make edits again, I can click on the pencil icon in the top right.
Can you walk me through the exact procedure you're trying? Please feel free to send any screenshots of the issue as you are experiencing them.
I would also like to know what web browser you are using, and the version. Does this occur in all browsers, such as Firefox, Chrome, and IE or Safari? If you were to disable all browser add-ons does the same occur? Can you replicate this across several computers?
Thank you for your help with this.
Regards,
Shannon
Yes tried on three computers. The results are the same. No pencil. No ability to edit a blog at all. It is Chrome on all three. Using a Windows PC, no safari installed. Only IE,Edge and Chrome.

This is the screen. If it is a plug-in how would I determine which one it is.

Hello Cheryl,
Thank you for the screenshot and for following up. The pencil icon is only available in view mode, but in this screenshot, you're already in edit mode. The text is greyed out as it is instructional text and you are to replace it with your own text.
Can you tell me what happens when you attempt to click with your cursor on the Give this page a title text? Have a look at Developer Tools > Network in Chrome if you are having any issues clicking on that particular part of the page.

Shannon

Hello Cheryl,
I have personally never seen this issue, and I'm not sure why it wouldn't be allowing you to click on it.
Could you tell me what errors you saw in the Developer Console as I mentioned last time? You can open the console then try to click on the title, and your browser will let you know what the issue is.
Failing that, I would recommend that you raise this as a case with our Cloud Support Team. That would enable them to test your instance directly to see if there's a problem with it specifically. When resolved, you can come back here and let us know what it was. This can help other users in the future, should they run into this problem
Let me know if you have any trouble!

Shannon

Thank you for the screenshots, Cheryl!
Could you check that you aren't behind a firewall or proxy, and that you are allowing all IP ranges and domains required for Cloud to work?
Have a look here for those:
Let me know if you have any trouble, but you may need to bring this to your network admin for confirmation.
