Cannot access Remote Confluence Methods

I have a hosted confluence instance, and when I try to access the WSDL on /rpc/soap-axis/confluenceservice-v2?wsdl (as described on https://developer.atlassian.com/display/CONFDEV/Confluence+XML-RPC+and+SOAP+APIs#ConfluenceXML-RPCandSOAPAPIs-changelogChangelog), I get an error screen "We're down for maintenance". What could be the problem?

The site is down for maintenance. Usually returns in a few minutes.

The site (https://itssmp.atlassian.net/wiki/) is not down. Only the RPC-URL shows this message (https://itssmp.atlassian.net/rpc).
