After starting to edit a Confluence page I realized that I'd better roll-back and start editing from the beginning. As there is no "Discard" button, I clicked "Close". Two options to edit the page appeared:
- "Unpublished changes"
- "Edit"
"Unpublished changes" keeps cash of edit I've done. That's clear. But why "Edit" does exactly the same? I expected to start editing from the beginning but page looked exactly the same as if I clicked "Unpublished changes" instead.
What's wrong and how to fix it? Could it be a bug on Atlassian side?
Steps I tried:
- Refreshing page: didn't help
- Browser restarting: didn't help
- Cleaning cookies: didn't help
- Using another browser: didn't help
The "Unpublished changes" is just a label added when you close out a page that you have edited. And when you click Edit it will show you that unpublished page, if you look at the links for both "Unpublished changes" and Edit they are the same.
In order to undo your changes you have to click the three dot menu while in edit mode and then select Revert to previous version.
Thank you, it works!
Is it possible to have this button next to "close" and "update" buttons or replace with "Share" - it was never used while editing a page? The bar is almost empty and having quick asses will help a lot.

@Aleksandr Duk I believe it is a new feature so to speak. It used to be saved as a draft if I remember correctly.
Now, Atlassian does the work for you regardless of how you close the page. If you check the navigation bar, your page will show up with (Draft) in parentheses.

Draft is only when you first create a new page and do not publish it, and it is only visible to the user that created the page. Unpublished changes is visible to any user that have edit access to the page, so when you do a revert it will revert any changes made by any user.
