Can the Confluence REST API edit a draw.io diagram that has been inserted on to my confluence?

I am researching how to update sections of the inserted draw.io automatically using the Rest API from confluence. I specifically want to change the color of the status and ass text into text fields. Is this possible? The documentation I am reading does not seem to confirm this.

I'd look at the the network traffic when saving a diagram. That will show you the API call to make and how to attach the data payload.
