Can't add Data Center license to an upgraded Confluence Server install

In my non-prod environment I installed the server version of Confluence for evaluation.  I have since purchased the Data Center version and, per the instructions on Atlassian site, upgraded the server version (option 3) to Data Center version 6.12.0.

The problem is when I try to apply my non-prod Data Center license to the upgraded Confluence it still thinks it's running a server version and won't allow me to apply the new license.
