Dear Atlassian Community,
I have a Confluence page with a table, for which I would like to create a block template. However, I always receive an error message in the bottom left corner stating that it wasn't successful. It's quite a generic error message and of course, I tried it several times. Without any success.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to enable the block template creation anywhere in the Confluence settings maybe?
Hello @Thomas Löschner
That´s new Feature, but any problems you should address directly to Support, because being not able to save them stating Backend problem.
Best,

Short update here:
I was in contact with the Atlassian support and they found an issue concerning block template creation with larger nested tables. Basically the root cause was a network timeout in the backend. They will fix it now and for me, it already works fine.
So long story short: Problem solved :-)
I hope this feature will be reolled out to all of your sites as soon as possible!

Confluence has no block templates, only full page templates.
Or do you have a 3rd party integration running, can you provide screenshots for context?

I found this article: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/create-and-manage-block-templates/
And in the context menue, I have this option:

I see this feature is still rolling out so not everyone has this feature already.
If you do have an issue like this, provide feedback to Atlassian or create a Support request

Thanks for the reply. This is a feature I will actually use on a regular basis, so I hope they roll it out to my site soon.
