Can JIRA use the Confluence Users Table?

Hello Guru's,  we've had Confluence running for many years, and just aquired JIRA Service Desk. I would like to link both apps, but first I need to somehow get all Confluence users into JIRA.  They each run on their own Tomcat instance, same physical server. Same MySQL server, each their own database.

I noticed the cwd_user tables are almost identical. Can I just export the users from Confluence, and import them into JIRA?  Is that all I need to do?  Any other tables that need copied?

Thanks,
Mark

Never mind, I am going to set it up with Atlassian Crowd software, to get the SSO functionality I am looking for.
