Can I rename an existing database?

Rick Elkins
January 25, 2019

Hello,

I have 2 separate server installations that I split. One is now work and one is home. To restore data, I made the databases used on both instances the same - confluence.

I would now like to rename the database I am using on the home server to something like ConfluenceHome.

I use PostgreSQL database for both instances.

What is the process for renaming the database?

Stop Confluence, use the database tools to change the name, edit the confluence connection settings in <confluence home>/confluence.cfg.xml to change the database name it connects to, and restart confluence.

Nic - thanks for the response. I cannot believe I have not accepted your answer. I am doing so now. Sorry this is so late - and thanks for the help!
